Things have been just ducky in Pittsburgh.

Only a few more days until this golden cutie will leave the shores of Point State Park in Pittburgh. For the last month flocks of locals and tourists have made it to Three Rivers to take selfies and show their best "duck face" with this art installation courtesy of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. Although this 40 ft guy has been seen around the world, Pittsburgh was the first in the U.S. to honor its presence.

Buccos' season comes to an end but the possibilties only begin.

Thank you Pittsburgh Pirates for a wonderful season and bringing back so many good memories. You see this keychain. It's from 1988. I carry it everyday. It was from the last Pirates game my Dad and I attended before he was diagnosed with cancer. One of the first childhood memories of my Dad was him playing baseball and the last memories of him was of us watching the Pirates during the '92 season. He passed away that July and never saw the playoffs.

This season lifted the spirits of many fans like myself--in a time when a lot of unsettling things are going on in this world, ...for this you should be proud. Looking forward to 2014! #thankyoubucs #Buctober2014

Boys of Buctober, let's do it! Bring it back home to the Burgh!

I was sorting through some of my photos from a 2012 Pirates home game and this one caught my eye. Wanting to capture the spirit of the fans, I didn't realize I had our World Series years in the frame. And yes, I mean "our" World Series years. That's one thing I've always admired about the Pittsburgh Pirates (even more so this year) how much the fans mean to the team and vice versa. Whether the Pirates make to the final series this year or not, the fans are behind you either way and appreciate the positive spirit the team has brought to this season after so many years.

So tonight in St. Louis, Boys of Buctober, LET'S DO IT and bring it home to the Burgh riding the Cole Train. Generations later, we still believe. Let's go Bucs!

Quick and Tasty Breakfast Taquitos

Knowing I had a jammed packed day ahead of me I was looking for something more substantial for breakfast so it was Pinterest to the rescue and found this taquitos recipe under "quick breakfast" search. As usual, I had to modify the recipe according to ingredients on hand but was thrilled to be using up the last of my tortillas. Modifications were: filling included scrambled egg and caramelized onions, fresh diced tomato from my garden and sharp cheddar cheese, seasoned to taste sprinkled with a little bit of Hungarian Paprika.

Okay confession time, mine turned out more like burrito size but hey, I was hungry and divided the filling proportionally to tortillas I had left. :) Accompanied by my homemade applesauce, it was exactly what I needed this morning! Check out the full recipe here: Breakfast Taquitos by Damn Delicious.

Generations later, we still believe. No bandwagon fan here.

Lovin' the energy of the Pittsburgh fans! Took this photo a few weeks ago. Reminded me of watching the games with my Dad back in '92 every night during his battle with cancer. Unfortunately he passed away before the Pirates made the play-offs. Wish he was here. #Pittsburgh Pirates fans, it's finally #Buctober, ....#LetsGoBucs!
